Work-related Stress

Suffering with work-related stress?

If you are in work and suffering from work-related stress, initially, you should raise your concerns with your line manager (unless they are the issue). According to the Occupational Health website, line managers should help identify, discuss and manage your work stressors. Using the Stress Assessment Tool within the stress prevention and management toolkit, can help in identifying specific work stressors during this discussion with your manager.

To address your individual work-related stress issues UCU advise: you should refer yourself or ask your line manager (if applicable) to refer you to occupational health, Health Referrals (The University of Manchester), millocchealth@manchester.ac.uk. Occupational Health will assess your needs and create an individual specific report plan. This should include a requirement for:
• a stress related individual risk assessment
• a specific workplan.

The previous guidance on work-related stress we had prepared remains accurate.
